According to the latest storm news, a tropical depression has officially formed off the coast of the Philippines. It is forecasted to become storm number 15 and enter the East Sea.

New storm information from the National Center for Atmospheric and Geophysical Research (PAGASA) said that the depression has officially strengthened into a tropical depression, with the local name Verbena.
At 7:00 a.m. on November 24, the center of the tropical depression was at about 9.5 degrees North latitude - 128 degrees East longitude, about 290 km east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.
The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is about 45 km/h, gusting to 55 km/h.
The tropical depression is moving westward at a speed of 20 km/h.
PAGASA forecasts that the tropical depression will directly affect the areas of Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao..., experiencing heavy rain, strong winds and rising water.
Tropical depression Verbena is forecast to continue moving northwest, approaching the northeastern area of Mindanao before making landfall in the Visayas and northern Palawan from today, November 24 to November 26.
After that, the tropical depression will officially enter the East Sea and become storm No. 15 on November 26.
At around 5:00 a.m. on November 27, storm No. 15 intensified to a strong tropical storm in the central area of the East Sea.
The storm's path is forecast to head towards the South Central and Southern regions of our country.
Residents and tourists in these areas need to prepare safety measures against the risk of heavy rain, flash floods and landslides due to the storm's impact.
Tourists planning to visit the Philippines, the South Central and Southern provinces of Vietnam at the end of November need to continuously monitor weather forecasts, postpone or adjust their schedules when the weather develops badly.
The Southern Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that between November 26 and 27, there is also a possibility of a tropical cyclone (storm or tropical depression) forming in the East Sea.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, during the period of November 21-December 20, 2025, the East Sea region is likely to have 1-2 storms or tropical depressions. Some may directly affect the Vietnamese mainland.
On average, during this period, the East Sea usually has about 1.2 storms/tropical depressions, with 0.4 making landfall in our country.
