According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), experts believe that if demand from major markets such as the Middle East and Europe increases in the second quarter, pepper prices will likely continue to increase.
Although pepper prices this year are higher than last year, the expansion of new planting areas is not strong. The reason is that many localities no longer have land funds or farmers have switched to growing crops with higher economic value. Therefore, the pepper planting area is expected to not increase in 2025.
World pepper prices
On the world market, the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at 7,323 USD/ton. In addition, the price of Muntok white pepper also remained unchanged from yesterday at 9,918 USD/ton.
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 6,800/ton.
The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 9,200/ton. In addition, the price of this country's ASTA white pepper remained stable from yesterday at USD 11,900/ton.
The price of all types of pepper in Vietnam remained unchanged from yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached USD 6,700/ton; the price of 550 gr/l reached USD 6,800/ton.
Similarly, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 9,700/ton.
